The Club

Since 1992, our club has been driven by the belief that wheelchair basketball should be open for all. We create an environment where every
player is welcomed, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.
We compete with ambition, train with purpose, and play with pride. At the same time, we champion inclusion, respect, teamwork, and opportunity, ensuring that everyone – regardless of ability, experience, age, or background – has a place within our basketball family.

FAQs

Q: I am not an everyday wheelchair user. Can I still play?
A: Absolutely! This is one of the biggest misconceptions about wheelchair basketball. In domestic British leagues, disabled and non-disabled players train and compete together in the exact same teams. Whether you are a full-time wheelchair user, have an injury that stops you from playing running sports, or just love the sport, you are welcome at Cobras.

Q: Do I need my own sports wheelchair?
A: As a club, we have sports chairs you will be able to borrow during training. If you are looking to take the sport further and compete, it is highly recommended that you have your own chair, as they are specifically designed for the particular user in mind.

Q: Can I try a session before becoming a member?
A: Yes! Your first four sessions at the club are completely free, no commitment needed. We want you to come down, get in a chair, meet the team, and see how much you love the game before you have to think about a financial commitment. After this, we ask that you either become a member or pay on a session-by-session basis.
